What is the payment gateway?

The payment gateway task occurs when the customer uses the online shopping cart feature. A payment gateway is like an online point-of-sale terminal for your online business that securely authorizes your e-commerce site to approve or deny sales for online payments.

It is most commonly used at internet scale, but it can also be used in traditional brick-and-mortar retail payment gateways for woocommerce with swipe card readers. payment gateways allow your customers to enter their debit and credit card details, shipping and billing addresses.

Customers will also instantly know if their sale was approved or rejected. Once the payment gateway authorizes the online payment, it transfers your transaction details to your merchant account.

For business merchants, you need us to process payment methods using Merchant Code and Merchant Key. For example, in this case, if you register a merchant account through ipay88, ipay88 will provide these credentials to accept payments when your merchant account is approved for payment processing.

An e-commerce site only needs a shopping cart, payment gateway, and a merchant account. Now we come back to this blog in China, if you don't have a shopping cart, your customer information can't get your items checked out.

If you don't have a payment gateway, your customers can't pay for your items. So the two must work together, not independently. You can contact ipay88 - ASEAN's leading provider of online payment solutions, if you have any enquiries, we will reply to any of your needs as soon as possible.
